If this is 'unbiased' ... don't think so - CNN is doing a documentary on Fundamentalism.

Update: Jay Andersen has his take on what will likely be a real hatchet job. Check out his comments - classic!

-------------

Apparently CNN's own Christiane Amanpour is doing a documentary titled, God' Warriors. According to this news article, this documentary is going to examine fundamentalism among Christians, Muslims and Jews.

Fair enough ... but whenever I hear or read the phrase "fundamental Christians" the hairs on the back of my neck stand up ... I'm waiting for the typical anti-Catholic screeds (Crusades, antiScience, antiWoman, Spanish Inquisition, witch hunts, and so on and so on).

Fundamentalism and fundamentalists are nearly always cast in a negative light by the mainstream media. And these are also nearly always confused with orthodoxy - particularly when dealing with Christianity.

Again from this article ... here's a sample of how - ahem - unbiased this documentary is supposed to be:

The segment on Christians explores BattleCry in some depth, digging at the roots of an organization that fights against some of the cruder elements of popular culture and urges teenagers to be chaste. In noting how girls at some BattleCry events are encouraged to wear long dresses, Amanpour asks the group's leader how it is different from the Taliban.

Ummmm ... hmmmm ... let's see ... urging teens to be chaste ... wear modest clothing as an outward expression of that chastity and purity ... yeah - I can see the connection. Give me a break!
